Yinka Ilori – Adding the saturation to sports
The Colour Feed:
There isn’t a single industry that London/Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori can’t brighten up with a wave of his rainbow wand. The multi-disciplinary artist who began his practice in 2011 upcycling furniture has transformed many a London landmark with his bold West-African fabric inspired patterns that have adorned billboards, a Selfridges window display and art installations across the UK capital and beyond.
Recent projects have seen him brightening up the world of leisure, bringing joy to a youth basketball court Be The Best You Can Bein Canary Wharf, creating Promise Me Memories And I Will Let You In, a summer hang-out in Greenwich Peninsula, designing this year’s Evian VIP suite for The Championships, Wimbledon and Dodge, the courtyard at Somerset House which runs from 15th July – 22ndAugust where you’ll find his colourful backdrop to accompany the dodgem rides.
Personally, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for Yinka Illori the flume park, image the water slides and perhaps even coloured pool water? How can we make this happen?
